14 year old Hally’s potential step-sister regrets convincing her to dye her hair when she violently learns the true depth of Hally’s attachment to her beauty, and to her mother.

Dye

My Senior Thesis Film.

Dye is a 12 minute culmination of everything I learned studying film at Northwestern

That I wrote, rewrote, rewrote again, produced, and directed.

The Screenplay

Originally written as a creative fiction story for a writing class, then a character study in my screenwriting class, Dye explores and exaggerates the fears that accompany the embarrassment of adolescence.

The Process

The production team was just me and my good friend Anna Chaurize. We shot in my room over three days, though years (yes, years– we were delayed because of COVID, but that only let us develop the film further!) of planning went into making this film.
